Each week, Billboard Dance looks at songs and albums rising on Billboard's dance charts.

Lovari & Adam Barta feat. Electropoint "No Day Like Today"

New York-based singer-songwriter Lovari and Port St. Lucie, Florida-based singer/actor Adam Barta debut at No. 47 on Billboard's Dance Club Songs chart (dated Oct. 12) with "No Day Like Today," featuring New York-based producer Electropoint (real name: Roman Molino Dunn).

The first chart appearance each for Lovari and Electropoint, "Day" is Barta's third, after "Flawless" (with Dr. Miami and featuring Talia and Roro; No. 32, July 2017) and "Give Yourself Up" (Kathy Sledge featuring Barta; No. 20, October 2011). "Day" was remixed by Dirty Werk, among others.

"Every day I try to accomplish a goal, learn something or a complete a task," Lovari tells Billboard. "This song is like a personal mantra of how I live my life. There's no day like today to learn, to examine. Why wait?

"I wrote this song to be dedicated to and inspired by my grandfather," Barta adds. "He sang the refrain, 'canta no llores,' to me when I was a little kid. It means, 'sing, do not cry,' which is the true message of the song and what we need right now in today's world."

Chromatics, Closer to Grey

Portland, Oregon-based Chromatics (Ruth Radelet, Johnny Jewel, Adam Miller and Nat Walker) cruise in at No. 5 on Dance/Electronic Album Sales with Closer to Grey. It's the group's second entry and first top 10, following Kill for Love (No. 11, April 2012). The set starts with a haunting, minimalistic rendition of Simon & Garfunkel's classic "The Sound of Silence," which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks in January 1966 (while Disturbed's remake ruled Mainstream Rock Songs for seven weeks in 2016). Chromatics are on tour in Europe through Nov. 1.

Meresha, "Olivia"

Polish-born, Florida-based singer/DJ Meresha makes her second appearance on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs with "Olivia" (No. 43). The track follows "Violet Night" (No. 37, March 2018), from her Enter the Dreamland EP (No. 23 on Heatskeekers Albums, July 2017). "Olivia," discounted to 99 cents in the iTunes Store and on Google Play, starts with 2,000 downloads sold in the week ending Oct. 3, according to Nielsen Music. The figure is also good for a No. 4 beginning on Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales, Meresha's best career rank (surpassing "Night," which reached No. 8 in March 2018).
