Artist Group International Signs Five Finger Death Punch

The group has logged a total of 130 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1.

BTS rules Billboard's Social 50 chart for the 100th week in a row, collecting a 130th week overall at No. 1 on the chart dated June 15, as the Korean pop group continues to dominate the social media-fueled list.

The Social 50 is powered by data tracked by music analytics company Next Big Sound and ranks the most popular artists on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Wikipedia and Tumblr. The chart's methodology blends weekly additions of friends/fans/followers with artist page views and engagement. The chart's latest tracking week ended June 6.

BTS has spent each week since the Social 50 chart dated July 29, 2017, at No. 1, a feat accomplished by no other artist in the tally’s eight-plus-year history (it started in December 2010). The group takes the June 15 crown after scoring 12.3 million mentions on Twitter, up 57%, along with 6.5 million Twitter reactions (a boost of 134%), according to Next Big Sound.

Next on BTS’ plate: the all-time-weeks-at-No. 1 record for the Social 50, currently held by Justin Bieber. The pop singer has 163 weeks atop the chart to his name; BTS has 130.

Elsewhere, Lauv debuts at No. 16, marking one of the top debuts for an artist in 2019. The pop singer bows with a total of 459,000 Twitter mentions and 219,000 reactions to his tweets in the week ending June 6, according to Next Big Sound. That’s thanks in large part to a June 2 photo he tweeted with -- guess who? -- BTS.

Lauv’s debut is the best for a living act on the Social 50 since Lil Dicky started at No. 12 on the May 4-dated list, and in 2019 he’s been either equaled or bested by only five other acts – Dicky included – who debuted at No. 16 or higher on the Social 50 not due to a death. The others: Billy Ray Cyrus, Motley Crue, TOMORROW X TOGETHER and WayV.

One spot below Lauv, Stray Kids re-enter the Social 50 at No. 17, racking up boosts of 986% and 206% in Twitter reactions and mentions, respectively.

Excitement around the nine-piece K-pop boyband is reaching a fever pitch with the trailer for its latest album, Cle 2: Yellow Wood, due for a June 19 release. In addition to the June 3 trailer, the group also began sharing teaser images of its various members on Twitter, leading to more social engagement.

The album’s predecessor, Cle 1: Miroh, debuted at No. 3 on the World Albums list dated April 6.
