Rewatch Juice WRLD's 'How It Went Down'

By Billboard

Whether you like it or not, drag legend RuPaul Charles is on a mission to dominate the field of television. Alongside his wildly successful, Emmy-winning reality series RuPaul’s Drag Race, the host is now setting his sights on a daytime slot.

On Tuesday (April 2), it was announced that RuPaul signed a deal with Fox Television Stations for a three-week test run of his new talk show, appropriately titled RuPaul, this summer. The show will feature Ru interviewing celebrities and newsmakers of the day, along with bringing his unique, inspirational spirit to the format.

“Now more than ever before we need a global voice that will help everyday people navigate this unique time in history,” RuPaul said in a statement. “Not only do I want to be a part of that conversation, I want to help facilitate it.”

This won’t be the drag star’s first time helming his own talk show: Back in 1996, RuPaul created and starred in his very own VH1 talk program The RuPaul Show, where he chatted with the day’s biggest stars about pop culture.

RuPaul is only one of the star’s many new television projects in the works. Ru recently starred as a judge on the CBS talent show The World’s Best and will star in the upcoming Netflix comedy AJ and the Queen, a show about a down-on-his-luck drag queen touring the United States with a young girl named AJ. RuPaul is also debuting a U.K. edition of RuPaul’s Drag Race later this year and has been working with producer J.J. Abrams on premiering a semi-autobiographical Hulu show since 2017.

RuPaul will debut June 10 and air Monday through Friday on select Fox networks, including New York’s WNYW and Los Angeles’ KTTV.
