Lady Gaga said she was "really honored" to be at the 2019 Golden Globes in a live streaming red carpet interview Sunday night (Jan. 6).

The A Star Is Born actress, dressed in a powder blue Valentino Couture gown with matching hair and a Tiffany diamond necklace, took a moment to describe what it was like to pen the film's "Shallow," nominated for best original song at the ceremony.

She remembered it as a "very brave moment."

"The song really became a communication between men and women," she explained. "Can I talk with you and will you listen?"

On a separate E! broadcast from the red carpet, she spoke of taking on the role of Ally in A Star Is Born: "It’s very different. I think I’ve created characters for years because I’ve always wanted to be an actress … For this, it was a totally different thing. I had to go to a very specific place. I worked very closely with Bradley Cooper, a tremendous visionary, tremendous director, tremendous actor to work with.”

A Star Is Born is nominated for best picture at the Globes, with Lady Gaga up for best actress. Co-star and director Bradley Cooper is nominated for best director and best actor for his work on the film.

The Golden Globe Awards ceremony is produced by Dick Clark Productions, which is owned by Valence, the parent company of Billboard.
